Gas/Oil System Cleanings

Gas System Cleaning and Checkup

  • Check the operation of the thermostat and operate the heating system

  • Verify the function of limit switches safety controls

  • Check all electrical wiring & circuits associated with the system

  • Visually inspect burners and burner tubes

  • Inspect all motors associated with the heating system.

  • Test capacitors functionality and ratings

  • Verify pressure switch functionality and clean pressure switch tube

  • Verify operation of the condensate pump, clear associated drains (if applicable)

  • Inspect ignition components and gas valve operation

  • Inspect exhaust venting

  • Perform heat exchanger safety camera inspection

  • Check standard one-inch air filter, if applicable

  • Check system airflow and measure temperature rise across the heat exchanger

  • Complete a full combustion efficiency test and print results

  • Complete a safety check for carbon monoxide in the ductwork

  • Inspect heat exchanger for signs of corrosion, fouling, structural problems (e.g., cracks, perforations, and bulges), and erratic flame operation during blower operation

  • Inspect the burner blower wheel to ensure it is clean

  • Measure, record, and adjust manifold pressure as necessary

  • Inspect the integrity of all accessible duct work including: duct strapping, hangers, sections, joints, seams and filter area

  • Inspect all vent connectors for rust discoloration, leaks, or signs of condensate

  • Tag all applicable valves and switches to ensure the homeowner knows what each is for.
